Just now, I have spent more than two hours seeing the movie Bicentennial Man. And finally, I was deeply moved…
Regretfully, I’m not a human who is very clear about the actors and actresses. So I don't know what a bright film star the hero in this film is. But I'm sure that he must be an excellent one. And the fact proves. However, if there was a movie about high technology whose perspective was so unique that moved me deeply, that was this--- Bicentennial Man.
There can be a lot of films about the robot. But Bicentennial Man is a different one. Looking from the surface, its theme was to show a robot who was struggle for his identity of being a human. But in my opinion, I think it showed the real meaning of life. It was a film showing about the time, society and humanity.
The robot's name was Andrew Martin, which was run at 5:15, on April 3rd, 2005, in a family house. His special was found by the host. And then the host taught him a lot of things, knowledge, human history, love and so on. The books the host gave him let him know more about the human history and the humanity. Soon, he got something like humanity…
Andrew liked his Little Miss, but he didn't know that, for he was still a robot. Letting Little Miss married a wrong man made him feel something wrong, but he cannot do anything, for he was a robot… He wanted freedom like a human, so the host promised him. He made a house of his own in the seaside, missing his family. On the death of his host, he went to see him. The host said that time for him is endless…
Andrew learned to tell jokes, made clocks and even invented artificial organs…
Not until the crazy scientist converted him into a special human being did he realize the feeling of love. It’s the love between Andrew and Little Miss’s grandchild who looked like Little Miss very much. After being converted into a human, Andrew realized the dream 100 years ago, had his human identity and the love belonged to him.
Andrew could be alive forever, but he did not. He ultimately realized that forever life could not bring the happiness. So he chose to be a real human, ending his 200 years’ life with his wife.
What's the most heart-breaking to a human is the leaving of the lovers. Death is a natural and necessary thing to humans. Experiencing broth and death is the whole life.
